10k Road Race
The annual North Tyneside 10k Road Race was an Easter Sunday sell-out and was won by Tadele Geremew in a time of 33 minutes and 04 seconds.
The first female runner over the line was Alison Dargie in a time of 38 minutes and 09 seconds.

The race started at The Parks Sports Centre in North Shields before taking in the Fish Quay, River Tyne, Tynemouth Priory and a stretch of coastline before finishing at St. Mary's Lighthouse.
Organised by North Tyneside Council with support from Start Fitness and Northumbria Spring Water, the 6.2 mile event is always a sell-out and the 2018 run will be on sale soon.
The course record still stands at 30m 20s, set by Mongolian athlete Serod Batocir in 2011.
