The popular Wallsend Festival returns with a free and fun-packed programme.
Now in its 20th year, the community event will take place in Wallsend town centre on Saturday 14 August, between 10am and 5pm.
There will be fairground rides, live music and a selection of stalls selling crafts, gifts and food produce.
Bands and solo artists from North Tyneside’s Standing Upright Project will be performing on the stage outside of the Forum Shopping Centre. The project works with young people who have experienced anxieties or difficulties when it comes to performance.
A collection of classic cars will be on display between Park Road and High Street East. People can take a look inside the vintage vehicles and chat to the owners.
Small fairground rides will be located at High Street East and larger attractions can be found at the Segedunum Roman Fort car park.
The museum will also be open throughout the weekend for those wanting to explore the town’s Roman history.
The annual event would usually take place on the first Saturday of July each year but Covid restrictions meant that hasn’t been possible since the last festival in 2019.
