The popular Wallsend Festival returns with a free and fun-packed programme.

Now in its 23rd year, the community event will take place in Wallsend town centre on Saturday 6 July, between 10am and 5pm.

There will be fairground rides, live music, circus workshops and other special attractions.

Look out for an under 18s 'Battle of the Bands' in Segedunum's car park where the winner will have the opportunity to perform on the main stage at Mouth of the Tyne Festival!

The museum is offering free entry all day too.
